Platform supporting transporters

Platform supporting transporters

As of November 2016, we have been working on a large project regarding the construction of a carbon steel platform. The steel structure weighing more than 40 tons, 50 m long is a support frame for production carriers in the hall of the company. The platform was constructed in compliance with PN-B 6200 as a structure with higher implementation requirements and execution class EXC2 (according to PN-EN 1090).

The works were performed in series and adapted to the production requirements of the client. Unfortunately, we had to do some part of the work during downtimes, since the platform was created over 6 production lines. The order was executed by eight employees, including welders, foremans, fitters and the project manager. Our fire protection and occupational health and safety specialist exercised surveillance of the working conditions of our employees. The work at height as well as welding and fitting activities were carried out on site.

Apart from the construction of the structure, the project also provided for other works aimed at adjusting the devices involved in the transport of products.  It was necessary to move the bumpers onto the platform so that their height was adequate to the new position of carriers. 4 bumpers were relocated and 1 new opened.

It was a multi-stage project, comprehensively implemented, starting from the contact with the designer at the planning stage and finishing with the activities for improvement of work safety of the operators working at workstations.
